I know, I know… my last post was pretty self-indulgent. I mean, most people can’t relate to such specific tales of bosses being hypocrites that have strict payment policies when they don’t have the courtesy to pay their own bills. Or bosses who manipulate and lie to their staff in order to control them. Or bosses that are too stupid to recognize that you are there to help their business, not compete with them. As an associate my role in the dental office was always unique. I was sort of a boss and sort of not. So when it was convenient...
Just this morning I turned on my ipad hoping to read a few blogs I follow and check a few things on my blog. It was the first time I’ve tried to use the iPad for this. I noticed I couldn’t check my site stats or respond to comments. I couldn’t even log in. I eventually scrolled to the bottom of the page and found the link that says “View Standard Site.” Phew… back to my site as I know it. So about an hour later, I was visiting Kana’s Notebook, and found this post. It is worth a read...
If you know me well, you’ve probably heard me mention once or twice that I never win anything. I always feel like I have to clarify it by saying, “I have a very lucky life, but I’m not lucky with gaming.” It’s true. I could believe it this morning when I woke up to the news that Taco Bell uses less than 35% beef in their “seasoned ground beef,” but I couldn’t believe the timing of the news. My laughter filled the room as I recounted my I Love Tacos post from 2 days ago. Some will be disappointed to hear that instead of beef, the ingredients are mostly fillers and it does not even “meet the minimum...
Over a month ago I entered a contest to be a travel show host for Paradise Hunter for 3 months (UPDATE September 2020: their website is no longer live.) While I thought there was only a slight chance anything substantial would directly come of it, I knew it would open a door for me. What that was, I didn’t know at the time. After weeks of daydreaming about the perfect gig, and then realizing the job wasn’t mine, it became clear to me that I am very passionate about a few things: traveling and good food! And… there is nothing...
