The teachers we had always told us how much worse they were treated when they were in school. I wonder if that’s always going to be a universal sentiment. What you say about the part-time instructors is a sentiment that many in our class shared. I don’t know why this mentality occurs in dental schools. Your comment reminds me of a female instructor who so obviously bullied me for no reason at all. You would think at this professional level of education, we would integrate a higher level of respect into our teacher-student relationships. I’m going to post a follow up on CT’s interview next week, and you’ll get to see how their education was structured, and it will give you much more insight into why she felt such a lack of guidance. It’s really an interesting comparison in the model they used at her school in Hong Kong compared to here in the US.
