I definitely can relate to that conflict -- trying to provide the best treatment possible,  but at the same time, not liking the work. And then patients tell you how much they appreciate you and how good you are! Although it&#039;s very nice to hear those words, it sometimes creates an even higher level of anxiety!

I was starting to feel the knots in my stomach on Sunday MORNINGS, in anticipation of the next workday.

It&#039;s one of the few careers where most people don&#039;t congratulate you when you retire or change careers. Instead, it&#039;s &quot;What&#039;s wrong with you?&quot;

That must have been awful to have been advised to call a patient back into the office to modify the crown preparation, especially at the onset of your career. It&#039;s stressful enough to bring a patient back on the rare occasion that the lab lost an impression (or something similar) and you have to do that over!
